+0.31 (123,0m)
5. Eric Frenzel +0.43 (122,0m)

10km Cross Country Gundersen
Only the 30th fastest time yesterday, but today Eric showed that he is a good skier with the 10th fastest time,
He managed to ski a bit with Moan, but couldn't follow in the end. It's a good sign for the future, said Bundestrainer Hermann Weinbuch.
Moan who made a fantastic leg and won in fotofinish just before the leader in the World Cup, Anssi Koivuranta. Now it's only 59 points between them with two competitions left in Moans homecountry, Norway!

FINAL STANDINGS
1. Magnus Moan 0.00 (Fastest)
2. Anssi Koivuranta +0,0 (24th)
3. Bill Demong +2,5 (14th)
4. Eric Frenzel +12,4 (10th)
5. Petter Tande +18,3 (4th)

I didn't think it should go so well. I was a little bit sick in the beginning of the week. It was an optimal race!
Eric Frenzel

Erics best result this season and a fantastic weekend with 95 points and a 16th place in the World Cup before this weekend is now a 12th!

6/3 Lahti 22th World Cup Competition

LH130

Erics best result in the hill this season! He reached the podium in Lahti last season, can we hope that he does it again?

1. Anssi Koivuranta 0.00 (128m)
2. Jason Lamy Chappuis +0.03 (126,5m)
3. Janne Ryynaenen +0.12 (130m)
4. Eric Frenzel +0.14 (125m)
5. Wilhelm Denifl +0.15 (124,5m)

10km Cross Country Gundersen
A very good effort in the hill, but not that good in the cross country. Demong, Koivuranta and Chappuis were outstanding and Eric and Kircheisen couldn't follow the strong norwegian Moan on the 4th place. Kircheisen "gave" Eric the 5th place....
But a 5th place and 45 points is a good result for Eric!

FINAL STANDINGS

1. Bill Demong 0.00 (5th fastest)
2. Anssi Koivuranta +7,2 (15)
3. Jason Lamy Chappuis +11,5 (16)
4. Magnus Moan +31,7 (1)

5. Eric Frenzel +1.00,2 (30)

We co-operated well. I am content with fifth place!
Eric Frenzel

Eric is now on 14th place in the World Cup and have now "only " 79 points to the top 10!

Next competition is tomorrow 13.35 with Eric jumping as number 46.

The World Championships is over for this time.
An 8th place in the Mass Start, a 34th and a 29th place in the Gundersen and of course a 2nd place in the Team event for Eric!

No there is only two World Cup weekends left of the season and both is in Scandinavia.
This weekend in Lahti, Finland and the weekend after in Vikersund, Norway.

Top ten will be hard to reach for Eric but hopefully with a nice ending of the season he can improve his 16th place in the World Cup!

3. Finland +0.13 (without a sick Koivuranta)
4. Germany +0.17

2. Bjoern Kircheisen 126,0m (4)
3. Ronny Ackermann 125,0m (1)

Bill Demong in team USA was disqualified because he didn't find his bib (number).

4*5,0km Gundersen
Relay 1:
Ronny Ackermann, 12.15,1 (6th in leg)
Finland dropped off early. Japan, Austria, France and Norway was in top after the first 5km.
Ackermann couldn't follow this four teams in the end and lost some important seconds and was 11 seconds behind.

Relay 2:
Eric Frenzel, 11.50,0 (Fastest in leg!)
A though job for Eric to be alone 11 seconds behind, but when the four teams started to play tactical and Eric speeded up he could catch them up and had no problems to follow France and Norway and Germany was in a 3rd place after 10km. Austria dropped of in the end and lost their chances.

Relay 3:
Bjoern Kircheisen, 12.07,0 (Fastest in leg!)
Also a tactical (slow) leg with France in front most of the time. Kircheisen made a fantastic finish and was 12 seconds before Japan and Norway. Now also France lost their cances on a medal.

Relay 4:
Tino Edelmann, 12.03,2 (4th in leg)
A pretty big lead for Tino, but nowing that Norway had the very strong Magnus Moan on the last leg, he started in a normal speed and Norway and Japan was early catching him up.
A very very thrilling last leg and they were all three together in the last 500m, with a final sprint between Edelmann and Kobayashi.
Tino was very strong, but he couldn't pass the big surprise Japan.

A fantastic competition and the first senior World Championship medal for Eric Frenzel!
Congratulations to you and the whole german team!

An interview with Eric about the season so far and the rest of it, made by Live-Wintersport:

"Heute Platz elf.

A very very tight race with a lot of skiers together the whole race. Eric was in that group the complete race and fighted hard to not drop off in the end. Koivuranta was in a solo lead but was catched up early and it became a sprint finish were Magnus Moan won just before Jason Lamy Chappuis.
Eric once again showed a good skiform and finished in 6th place with the 13th fastest cross country time.
Eric after the race: It was terribly heavy to-remain at this course. With the sixth place I am very content, after three competitions the WM-standard is already there!

30/11 Kuusamo 2nd WC Competition
One other new rule this season is the Provisional Round that should be held on the fridays practise. If some of the competition rounds most be cancelled the results from the Provisional round will be used.
This weekend the Provisional round was cancelled on friday and it should be held today, but it was delayed and it was starting 11.30, so the results from that round was the one that counted.
